Has the Hulkster's v7ndotcom elursrebmem charity entry been bowled out by Google?
All serious contenders in this seo contest are aware that links to their entered pages will make a difference on how they will rank within Google's organic search results.
However, despite gaining a PR7 during the last update and a very large amount of links during the last two months of the competition Hulkster's ranking has recently taken quite an eye-opening drop.
Who is the Hulkster?
A man who describes himself as a 'hobbiest seo' he took part, as did I, in the Nigritude Ultramarine seo contest and is using v7ndotcom elursrebmem to both further his hobby and to put what he knows to good use in raising awareness of and hopefully prize money for research into Celiac Disease. The fun-loving father has two small boys who both suffer with the disease.
Quite a few other contestants are also saying that, should their own sites not reach the top spot, they hope that the Hulkster's will.What is Google-Bowling?
Putting it as simply and briefly as possible - it is a 'theory' that should a site gain a large amount of links to it, in a relatively short space of time (possibly with the same anchor text), thus appearing to the search engine as having unnatural, 'manufactured' or 'manipulated' linkage then the site's ranking will not rise but instead fall.
The questions are does it really exist, can your competitors sabotage your rank by utilising it and is a 'black-hatter' operating against the Hulkster's site?
